Ki-moon Commends Abu-Ghazaleh for His Commitment to the Global Compact Initiative

I highly value the strategic and policy guidance that you contributed to the Board?s deliberations - UN Secretary General

GENEVA---- April 11, 2009 --- Mr. Ban Ki-moon, secretary-general of the United Nations, sent a thank you letter to Mr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman and CEO of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization, extending his appreciation for his services and efforts exerted as a UN Global Compact Board member.

?I highly value the strategic and policy guidance that you contributed to the Board?s deliberations,? Mr. Ki-moon said in his letter.

The UN Secretary General praised the ongoing role played by Abu-Ghazaleh to promote the objectives of the Global Compact worldwide.

?I also thank you for your chairmanship of the Global Compact within your sector, region and at the global level,? he added.

At the end of the letter, Mr. Ki-moon expressed his appreciation to Mr. Abu-Ghazaleh?s dedication and commitment to the Global Compact hoping that he will continue his support to this initiative.
