AMMAN --- April 4, 2009 --- The Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Confucius (TAG-Confucius) Institute was officially launched on April 1, 2009 at the premises of the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Academies (TAG-Academies).

Attending the inauguration ceremony were Ambassador of the People?s Republic of China to Jordan Mr. Yuhang Yang, Chairman and CEO of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) Mr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, Professor Zhao Dayu, president of Shenyang University and Mr. Luay Talal Abu-Ghazaleh.

The attendees toured the Institute and were briefed on its latest facilities. On this occasion, the Chinese ambassador presented more than three thousands books as a gift from the Chinese government for the Institute?s library.

?This gift is really valuable and we really appreciate the Chinese government?s efforts to support the Institute?s library,? Mr. Abu-Ghazaleh said.

?We will ensure that the Institute is undertaking its task and achieving cultural interaction between Jordan and the People?s Republic of China through teaching Chinese language to the various categories of society including businesspeople, diplomats or students,? he added.

From his part, Mr. Yang extended his thanks and appreciation to Mr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh and his organization for the efforts exerted saying that ?the Institute will be a major center in the Arab region.?
