These decisions were finalized at the end of the Society?s annual meeting convened on January 8, 2009 in Cairo under the chairmanship of Mr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, LES-AC president, and the attendance of the Society?s Board of Directors and members of the General Assembly.

The meeting came out with other decisions such as the launch of a regional seminar to discuss the competition law and technology transfer in the Arab states, and another seminar about the Intellectual Property (IP) laws and licensing agreements to protect the licensees in Egypt.

Another decision that emerged from the meeting was the necessity to establish and enhance collaboration ties with a group of international bodies to hold a technology transfer forum in Dubai in January 2010.

The Societys administration was assigned to prepare a professional qualification program in franchising to train and qualify businesspeople and those who aspire to establish a franchise within legal and practical frameworks.

The Societys programs and activities were discussed during the meeting particularly in respect of the Arab Certified Intellectual Property Licensing Practitioner (ACIPLP) program.

On the other hand, all LES-AC specialized training programs will be uploaded and updated on the LES-AC website.

LES-AC will also offer a number of training courses throughout 2009 in collaboration with the Licensing Executives Society International (LESI).
