AKMS Concludes Its Annual Meeting in Cairo

AKMS to organize the first ?Towards An Afro-Asian Knowledge-Based Society Initiative? Founders? Conference
 

CAIRO ----- January 8, 2009------The annual meeting of the Arab Knowledge and Management Society (AKMS) concluded today in the Egyptian capital with the participation of the Society?s members from around the region.

Abu-Ghazaleh welcomed the attendees and congratulated them on the efforts exerted in organizing the first ?Towards An Afro-Asian Knowledge-Based Society Initiative? Founders? Conference which will take place January 11-12, 2009 in Cairo.

?This Conference will be an excellent opportunity to discuss key knowledge issues dealing with Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and capacity building,? he said.

The event will be held under the patronage of the Egyptian Prime Minister HE Dr. Ahmad Nazif.

?The Human Resources Qualification program will be launched in cooperation with the Egyptian government and will be a great asset to AKMS achievements,? Abu-Ghazaleh revealed.

AKMS members discussed training programs and future work calling on all offices around the world to market the Society?s training programs.

Several fruitful suggestions were introduced by AKMS members on how to market the Society?s activities in several countries in the region.

The members also expressed the necessity for holding more training programs especially in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.

Abu-Ghazaleh also discussed Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Arab Management where AKMS and Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization held a seminar to introduce this Award to the public.

The vision of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award Arab Management is to contribute to the development of the performance of both government and private sectors in the Arab world. In addition, the Award aims to encourage the performance of human resources by providing global models and standards for institutional and individual excellence.

Abu-Ghazaleh called for a minute of silence for all martyrs massacred in Gaza by the Israeli forces.
