AMMAN September 17, 2008, The Arab Knowledge and Management Society (AKMS) held a specialized workshop entitled "Knowledge Economy in the Distinguished School" on September 15, 2008 at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh College of Business (TAG-College).
The event addressed various issues mainly the development of the teachers? knowledge, skills and attitudes as well as the means to enhance their professional capabilities.
The following items were also highlighted during the workshop; the economy of scarcity, economy of abundance, economy of knowledge and thinking, the teacher?s administration of knowledge in accordance with the economy of knowledge, and the strategies of teaching and scientific research.
The workshop was headed by Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Hashemi, professor of curriculum and teaching strategies at Amman Arab University for Graduate Studies. A number of educators, administrators, supervisors and distinguished teachers from the public and private sectors participated in this event.
?The workshop underscores the importance of the transition from traditional educational methodology to a modern one that deals with the development of the mind,? Hanan Al Hidmi, AKMS manager said.
?Nowadays, there is an urgent need to combine originality and modernity in our educational curriculum and strategies in order to cope with the current technological updates,? she added.
From his part, Qais Khalafat, the executive director of Talal Abu- Ghazaleh International Academies pointed out that the workshop tries to find a distinguished scholastic model to be applied at all Jordanian schools.
