TAGCB Hosts Globalization and IT Lecture
AMMAN --- April 10, 2008 --- A lecture entitled ?Producing Skills Required by a Global economy: New Challenges and Opportunities for Developing Countries? was presented on Wednesday at the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh College of Business (TAGCB)/German Jordanian University.
The lecture was delivered by Dr. Bruno Lanvin, Executive Director of INSEAD?S eLab, and Manager of INSEAD Teams in France, Singapore and Abu Dhabi. INSEAD is a graduate business school based in Fontainebleau, near Paris.
During his address, Dr. Lanvin primarily focused on e-skills and the global sourcing of talent. Some of the main themes included Globalization, Information and the Knowledge Economy, and the effect of e-Skills in the development of knowledge societies. He connected these to major indices including the Networked Readiness Index (NRI), the Human Development Index, the Knowledge Economy Index and the global status of IT.
Dr. Lanvin further highlighted the connection between prosperous nations in the age of globalization and the wealth of information and knowledge within these countries.
TAGCB students, IT experts, economists and others interested in this field attended the lecture. Dr. Lanvin was invited to make this address by Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, Chairman and CEO of the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization.
