Famous Arab Brand Names Group Initiative Launched
The FABNG will voluntarily be formed by large-scale enterprises with well-known brands in the Arab world
AMMAN --- March 12, 2008 --- The Famous Arab Brand Names Group (FABNG) was launched on March 11, 2008. It aims at providing an appropriate environment to the growth of Arab brands in international and domestic markets.
This initiative, the brainchild of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman and CEO of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAGorg) will be headed by the Arab Society for Intellectual Property (ASIP) in addition to leading Arab enterprises and organizations.
The FABNG will voluntarily be formed by large-scale enterprises with well-known brands in the Arab world and will communicate effectively with leading brand owners and market leaders, government-led Intellectual Property (IP) bodies, industrial associations and related associations (non-governmental groups) in major domestic economies and/or countries.
ASIP Executive Manager Mutasem Dmour said ?We believe this initiative will be an added asset to our efforts in protecting intellectual property.?
?ASIP is very proud of being part of this initiative which complements its objectives in promoting and developing intellectual property protection in the Arab world, through encouraging the modernization of IP systems, laws and regulations that govern them,? he added.
FABNG will also hold press conferences, new products promotion exhibitions, workshops and seminars. Meanwhile, the Group will organize field trips for its members to attend international IP protection forums and promote their high quality brands in overseas markets.
