ACIPP Advisory Board Convenes

AMMAN ? The Arab Certified Intellectual Property Practitioner Program (ACIPP) Advisory Board Meeting, chaired by Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Chairman and CEO of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAGorg), was convened on March 10, 2008 at the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh College of Business (TAGCB).
International Intellectual Property (IP) experts representing the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) along with high ranking figures attended the meeting.
The Board reviewed and assessed the successful outcome of the program?s regional courses which were conducted in cooperation with WIPO in Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Oman and Jordan.
The course covers topics related to trademarks, and will be conducted in Arabic.
ACIPP is a professional Arabic program offering advanced teaching and training for Arab practitioners. It aims to provide an easier understanding of modern principles that govern IP, as well as access to knowledge and international developments, so that the practitioner may be able to provide his/her services in line with international standards.
The program is comprised of four courses:
Module 1: Introduction to Intellectual Property
Module 2: Trademarks and Unfair Competition
Module 3: Copyrights and Related Rights
Module 4: Patents of Inventions and Trade Secrets
Upon the completion of each course, students will sit for a final examination. Upon successful passing of the examination, they will receive a certificate. When a student passes final examinations in the Modules, she will be granted the full Arab Certified Intellectual Property Practitioner Certificate.
