AQAAN Signs Four Memoranda of Associations

AMMAN - May 23, 2007. The Arab Quality Assurance and Accreditation Network (AQAAN) signed on Wednesday four Memoranda of Associations with four Arab and international accreditation bodies at the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh College of Business/German Jordanian University (TAGCB/GJU).

According to these memoranda, these accreditation bodies shall grant AQAAN the right to provide quality label within the scope of this collaboration. The right of use includes the bodies support, development and quality control of accreditation process and of the related know-how and the corresponding use of the accompanying documentation in the contract territory by AQAAN.

In addition, AQAAN agrees to firmly push forward with the launch of the quality label with the bounds of its possibilities and at its own cost, whereby its commitment in terms of type, scope and expenses shall be at its sole discretion.

The four Memoranda were signed by  AQAAN Chairman Mr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, the Secretary General of the Association of Arab Universities (AARU) Mr.Saleh Hashem, Chief Executive of the British Accreditation Council for Independent Further and Higher Education (B.A.C)-U.K Mr. Stephen Vickers, Vice President Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA) – Switzerland Mr. Paul F. Roettig, Executive Director-Accreditation Certification and Quality Assurance Institute (ACQUIN)-Germany Mr. Thomas Reil.
 
AARU, BAC, FIBAA and ACQUIN shall be responsible for the accreditation coordination. The accreditation coordinator shall be responsible for the quality level of all AQAAN personnel, peers and commission body, and shall be required to ensure the quality level of the accreditation process along the international Standards and Guidelines.

AQAAN aims at designing a comprehensive system of quality assurance and accreditation to ensure that educational structures, organization, programs, faculty, materials, teaching methods, management models and methods in educational institutions meet the prescribed standards and conditions in order to reach the highest academic levels of efficiency and excellence.

The Network aims as well at upgrading the level of graduates, scientific research and knowledge production as well as conducting a comprehensive evaluation of Arab educational institutions, including universities, colleges, higher institutes and private and public schools, in addition to measuring compliance with such specifications and standards.
