Licensing Executives Society ? Arab Countries Launches ( The Arab Accredited Intellectual Property Licensing Expert Program )

The Licensing Executives Society – Arab Countries in cooperation with Talal Abu Ghazaleh College for Businesses , German-Jordanian  University held the first phase of the Arab Accredited Intellectual Property Licensing Expert Program entitled “Basics of Managing Intellectual Property and Licenses Assets” , between 14-17th April 2007, at the College.   

 

 

 

Chairman of the Society Board, Mr. Talal Abu Ghazaleh inaugurated the program whereas he welcomed the participants, and underlined the important of this specialized program in addition to its positive impacts on building the capabilities of a generation of specialists in their field of work to build a national base aimed at technology transfer. Mr. Abu Ghazaleh stressed the significance of such an achievement, as it is the first such qualifying program in the Arab world that focuses on licensing intellectual property and transferring technology.

 

 

 

The “Basics of Managing Intellectual Property and Licenses Expert” course is envisaged as the first stage out of three aimed at qualifying participants to attain an “Arab Accredited Intellectual Property Licenses Expert”, which is an accredited certificate by the International Licensing Executives Organization, which is the sole entity that provides such a program worldwide. It also invented this educational series to raise the level of knowledge and skills by specialists in fields of licensing and transferring technology. Furthermore, the program curricular was designed so as to focus on interaction between participants and trainers through joint working groups, and furnishing the opportunity to all participants to practice and implement what they learn, in addition to group and individual exercises.

 

 

At the end of the ceremony, Chairman of the Society Board reiterated that the LES management shall undertake disseminating the program in all Arab countries, and added that arrangements are being taken with the German-Jordanian University/Talal Abu Ghazaleh College for Businesses and the Ministry of Higher Education in order for this program to qualify for exemption from a number of credit hours in the Masters program in Intellectual Property and Businesses.
