DUBAI---February 25, 2007----The Mohammed Bin Rashed Al Maktoum Award for Arab Management Secretariat General announced today that it set a deadline for receiving nomination applications for participating in this year?s session on September 1st, 2007.
It disclosed a number of significant changes that encompass the Award assessment standards and categories, in order to correspond to the role played by the Award at the level of the Arab world.
Ahmed Nusirat, Adviser to the Award said ?development of the Award standards correspond to the vision of H.H Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashed Al Maktoum, the Vice-president, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, stipulating the Award to be an effective tool to develop Arab management and to promote professional as well as administrative practices of Arab institutions?.
He added: ?Such modifications coincide with the new strategy approved by the Award, and is thus based on the concept of developing public Arab managements, bolstering the culture of public excellence by governments in the Arab region as per the highest global standards, an issue that would contribute to disseminating and applying concepts of excellence, modern management, innovation, quality, and generalizing best practices of Arab management?.
Nusirat also said ?modifying the Award shall accredit the European model of excellence EFQM concerning the process of assessment for both the Distinguished Arab Institution and the Distinguished Arab Governmental Institution. The re-assessment process shall also entail the employed procedures and policies, the objectives in general, in addition to establishing new categories, amending nomination terms and methods for the Award?.
As of next month, the Award Secretariat General will embark upon a series of orientation tours in different Arab countries with a purpose of introducing the Award objectives and its role to concerned stakeholders, and the envisaged role to bolster the culture of best practices in both the governmental and private sectors, and to the changes occurred this year.
The Award has been presented since its launch, when it received a warm welcome from all working sectors across the Arab world, and drew the interest of employees in both sectors. It has also accredited offices and branches of Talal Abu Ghazaleh International & Co. across the Arab world to act as liaison offices to serve the Award objectives, and to receive nomination applications from different parties.
