The Iraqi Ministry of Planning and Development Cooperation has signed on Monday an inclusive cooperation protocol with Talal Abu-Ghazaleh International & Co. (TAGI) -Iraq Office.
According to the Protocol, TAGI is to provide consulting services to the Iraqi companies, in order for them to meet the international specifications of quality, environment and professional safety, especially ISO 9001-2000 and ISO 14001. The Company will also provide the guidance manual to the companies interested in obtaining the ISO certificate.
TAGI will also organize an awareness campaign regarding these specifications in Iraq.
The Ministry of Planning is the first official Iraqi party to obtain the ISO certificate.
TAGI provides the necessary consultation to the Iraqi companies and institutions wishing to obtain any of the certificates agreed upon under the Protocols provisions.
Furthermore, TAGI will provide assistance in establishing an IT training center, as Abu-Ghazaleh IT Skills Center will prepare and qualify an Iraqi staff to become trainers.
The Protocol also entails that TAGI renders consultation services in the fields of restructuring, development of financial and administrative systems, preparation of economic feasibility studies, and jointly exchanging statistics and information, as well as holding joint training courses inside and outside Iraq in the fields of management, economy, finance, quality management and information technology.
Under the Protocol, the Ministry’s National Center for Consultation and Management Development is accredited as the competent authority by TAGI to award Abu-Ghazaleh Cambridge IT Skills Diploma in Iraq.
The Protocol was signed by Dr. Mohammad Al Yaseen, the general manager of the National Center for Consultation and Management Development on behalf of the Ministry of Planning and Mr. Loay Abu-Osbeh, executive director of TAGI Iraq Office, on behalf of TAGI.
