MANAMA ------June 6, 2010-------- Mr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman and CEO of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) received HE Mr.Yang Weiguo the Chinese Ambassador to Bahrain and discussed ways of cooperation in various fields.
The Ambassador toured TAG-Org headquarters and was briefed on the list of professional services presented by the Organization.
"We are extremely happy with the level of cooperation with our Chinese counterparts and in the coming days we will take this cooperation into another level through opening Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Confucius Institute (TAG-Confucius) here in Manama to be the first specialized and approved institute to teach Chinese in the Gulf area," Mr. Abu-Ghazaleh said.
The first TAG-Confucius institute was opened in Amman in September 2008 to promote the Chinese language and culture, in order to reach a better mutual understanding between Arab and Chinese cultures and based on the cooperation agreement between TAG-Org and the Confucius Institute in China.
The Institute was named after Confucius, the world-renowned great thinker, educator and philosopher in Chinese history. Confuciuss thoughts have influenced China and other areas in the world for nearly 2000 years.
The Ambassador commended on the role of TAG-Org in education through the many projects presented to Bahrainis and discussed ways of cooperation in this vital sector.
The meetings were attended by several officials from the Chinese Embassy in Manama and TAG-Orgs executive directors and heads of activities.
