TAG-Confucius Institute Grants Scholarships for Its 2010 Students


Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Confucius Institute (TAG-Confucius), in cooperation with the Confucius Institute in Beijing granted five scholarships to its students to study in a number of universities in the Peoples Republic of China


AMMAN-----October 5, 2010------- Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Confucius Institute (TAG-Confucius), in cooperation with the Confucius Institute in Beijing granted five scholarships to its students to study in a number of universities in the Peoples Republic of China. Mumen Ghoulah, Ahmad Al-Juaidi, and Ivana Davidovitch were granted Master scholarship in Chinese language; Adeeb Nasser Eddin was granted a one-year scholarship while Sultan Al-Jaabneh was granted one-semester scholarship to study Chinese at Shenyang University.

It is worth mentioning that Ahmad Al-Juaidi and Mumen Ghoulah ranked the first and the second respectively in "The Great Wall and Petra" competition in Chinese which was organized by the Embassy of the Peoples Republic of China this year. The two winning students competed in Chinese with students from the University of Jordan and the Armed Forces Languages Institute.

The students expressed their profound gratitude for TAG- Confucius for giving them the chance to pursue their studies in China and learn the Chinese language in a very comprehensive way.

Ivana said that this scholarship was a dream that came true.

Prof. Leo Lee, dean of TAG-Confucius Institute handed over the scholarship admission papers to the students.

TAG- Confucius had announced the scholarship requirements for its students in April this year where twenty students competed for this scholarship.

Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Confucius Institute was established in September 2008 to promote the Chinese language and culture, in order to reach a better mutual understanding between Arab and Chinese cultures.

This is one-of-a-kind initiative based on the cooperation agreement between Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) and the Confucius Institute in China.

The Institute was named after Confucius, the world-renowned great thinker, educator and philosopher in Chinese history. Confuciuss thoughts have influenced China and other areas in the world for nearly 2000 years.
