Abu-Ghazaleh Presides Over ASCA/Jordan Board of Directors Meeting


The meeting tackled various topics including the formation of sub-committees of the general assembly to follow up the assembly?s activities, the services provided for ASCA?s members, and activates the role of ASCA in local community and other Arab community services

AMMAN ------- October 5, 2010------ The Arab Society of Certified Accountants/Jordan (ASCA/Jordan) held its general assembly meeting at the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Graduate School for Business Administration headquarters.

The meeting, headed by ASCAs Chairman Mr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, was attended by Mr. Mahmoud Sa?adeh, senior deputy chairman and a host of ASCA members, representing the quorum.

On his part, Mr. Abu-Ghazaleh praised the level of professionalism reached by ASCA and highlighted the efforts of the general assembly?s members and ASCA staff.Abu-Ghazaleh Presides Over ASCA/Jordan Board of Directors Meeting

The meeting tackled various topics including the formation of sub-committees of the general assembly to follow up the Society?s activities, the services provided for ASCA?s members, and activates the role of ASCA in local community and other Arab community services.

Currently, ASCA is preparing to hold a conference and a workshop in the first half of 2011 in cooperation with the International Accounting Standards Board. Moreover, ASCA intends to prepare for a free-of- charge training course for its members, interested parties and students of the International Financial Reporting Standards for Small and Medium Sized Entities.

ASCA will establish the proposed bases for the accreditation of training centers and institutions by ASCA according to the regulations of continued education of ASCA.

It is worth mentioning that ASCA/Jordan always seeks to develop accounting and management sciences as well as associated principles applicable to all or some professional services. It also seeks to promote levels of efficiency, practice and conduct to the highest professional standards through following up the latest developments in both accounting and auditing.
