The 4th meeting of the Council of Jordans Future Vision in 2021

Abu-Ghazaleh: A Primary Report to be submitted to His Majestys Office by the End of August

AMMAN----- July 27, 2014--------- The Council of Jordans Future Vision held its fourth meeting at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Forum with the participation and presence of a number of the States figures, economic and business experts and leaders of the civil sector.

President of the Economic Policy Development Forum (EPDF), and Head of the Council, HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh expressed his pride of the faithful, responsible, and eager elite that respects views of others.

During the meeting, a decision was taken to submit a report to His Majesty King Abdullah II Bin Al Hussein by the end of August that includes the standards of the three components of the vision: political, economic, and social, while the component work teams complete the policies required to be implemented by the end of 2014.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh welcomed the new members of the Economic Policy Development Forums presidential office; HE Dr. Abdallah Al-Zoubi, HE Mr. Michael Nazzal, HE Dr. Yusuf Mansur, HE Mr. Ahmad Armoush and HE Dr, Nael Al Hussami.

The Council, along with the founder of the Economy and Finance Committee in the Parliament HE Mr. Ahmad Al Jaloudi discussed the Investment Law and recommended requesting the Senate President not to adopt the Law referred by the Parliament before studying the Draft Law prepared by the Investment Work Team of the Economic Policy Development Forum after being discussed by the Finance Committee in the Senate.

On the other hand, the President of the Council showed the members, the preparations for the International Arab Conference on Inter-Arab Trade to be held by the Economic Policy Development Forum in collaboration with League of Arab States at Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Forum on August 10th, 2014, in addition to the study prepared by Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Consult under the directives and the request of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Arab delegations who took part in the WTO-Arab Consultation Forum which was held at the Forum in February 2013 under the Royal Patronage.

 

The President of the Council also shared with members the preparations for the establishment of an "Arab Coalition for Trade in Services" as mandated by of the United Nation Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) which will be based in the Lebanese Capital, Beirut.

 

It is worth mentioning that the Council of Jordans Future Vision 2021 adopted the following visions: "Jordan Enjoys a Comprehensive Socioeconomic and Political Security" and formed three working teams to address the economic component, the social component, and the political component for the Desired Jordan in its Centenary in 2021.
