The Jordanian National Orchestra Association Launches with Full House

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh: "A Beginning of Many Programs Inside and Outside Jordan"

Biltaji: "JOrchestra is a Bright Spot in the Cultural Movement"

AMMAN – The Jordanian National Orchestra Association (JOrchestra) held its opening concert, “An Evening in Amman”, at the King Hussein Cultural Center in Ras Al Ein under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Noor Al Hussein.

Her Majesty attended the event and was received by HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, Chairman of Jorchestra; HE Mr. Akel Baltaji, Mayor of the Greater Amman Municipality; Mr. Issam Salfiti and Mr. Yousef Nader, members of the Board of Trustees; as well as a number of ambassadors and dignitaries and a large crowd of music lovers who were there to witness the re-launch of the Orchestra.

At the outset of the ceremony, HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh expressed his pride for Her Majesty’s patronage and for the faith that she showed in him by entrusting him to chair the Orchestra.

"This evening is a special new day and a new beginning", Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh declared to a full house – the first in the history of the Cultural Center.

He addressed the attendees, calling upon them to join this national non-profit initiative that was established in collaboration with the National Music Conservatory part of King Hussein Foundation to achieve the vision of Her Majesty Queen Noor.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh greeted the talented Jordanian musicians and the artistic guests, and declared that the Venezuelan Maestro Mr. Eddy Marcano would be performing on October 20, 2014, Opera theatre in March 2015, and Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker would be performed as a Christmas gift.

HE Mr. Biltaji expressed his gratitude to Her Majesty Queen Noor for the role she plays in supporting culture and art. He also emphasized the importance of the revival of JOrchestra, which will play an effective role in promoting and activating

the music movement and in supporting the message of protecting the cultural heritage of the country and the region.

JOrchestra presented global masterpieces headed by conductor Mohammad Othman Sideeq in addition to the young orchestra who are students of the NMC part of the King Hussein Foundation. The young orchestra was formed by the NMC to build a generation of professional musicians who will take the music scene in the Kingdom to another level. It is worth noting that more than 7000 musicians graduated from the NMC, some became professionals around the world and others became part of JOrchestra. The NMC seeks to establish this new generation who will carry the flag after their teachers and to fulfill the vision of Greater Amman Municipality based on the vision of HM King Abdullah II in making Amman Downtown a cultural path that starts at Darat King Abdullah II passing through the NMC and Al Hussein Cultural center then popular market and national Museum then Al Hussein Mosque towards Roman Amphitheatre. 

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh offered the shield of the Association to Her Majesty and to Mr. Biltaji, while Maestro Mohammad Othman Sadiq offered the shield of the National Music Conservatoryto Her Majesty the Queen, HE Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh and HE Mr. Biltaji. Lastly, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh received a baton as a symbolic gift for his efforts to promote musical culture in Jordan and the world.
