TAG-Org and PDTRA Sign Two MoUs in the Fields of Services,Tourism and Culture
PETRA - December 31, 2015 - Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) and Petra Development Tourism Regional Authority (PDTRA) signed two MoUs in which TAG-Org will provide PDTRA with a range of services, and the parties will cooperate in cultural and musical initiatives.
The Two MoUs were signed, on behalf of TAG-Org, by Dr. Amin Mahmoud, Senior Adviser to HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, and on behalf of PDTRA, by Dr. Mohamed Abbas Nawafleh, PDTRA chief commissioner, in the presence of MP Adnan Farjat.
Dr. Mahmoud said that the city of Petra is one of the treasures of Jordan; therefore, it deserves to be protected and cared for. He pointed out that TAG-Org, out of its corporate social responsibility, and in response to the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II in the context of partnership between the public and private sector, has always sought to provide the national institutions with all the services they need.
For his part, Dr. Nawafleh expressed gratitude to Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh for the various initiatives implemented in the city of Petra. He said that PDTRA has always aimed at introducing the Red Rose City of Petra as one of the treasures of the Kingdom. He expressed hope that the website to be developed by TAG-Org would reflect the beauty and the uniqueness of this archaeological site.
Meanwhile, MP Farjat stressed that Dr. Abu-Ghazalehs initiative is highly appreciated by the citizens of Petra, as it would contribute to the provision of the best services and the improvement of the services available.
According to the first MoU, Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Society (TAG-KS) and PDTRA will cooperate in the field of the professional services provided by TAG-Org. That is TAG-Org will promote the city of Petra, provide consulting and training services, train PDTRAs personnel, and develop PDTRAs financial system.
TAG-Org will also design an archiving system and a website for PDTRA, promote the city of Petra locally and internationally, and cooperate in attracting investments to the city.
The second MoU was inked between PDTRA and the Jordanian National Orchestra Association (JOrchestra) chaired by HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh and honorary chaired by Her Majesty Queen Noor Al-Hussein.
According to the MoU, both parties will cooperate in organizing cultural and musical initiatives in relation to the ancient city of Petra, promote the cultural heritage through certain projects in the region of Petra, and support both the culture of Petra and JOrchestra through cultural and musical initiatives.
Long term sustainable initiatives, such as cultural and musical festivals, would highlight the importance of the historic city and promote tourism. Therefore, the two parties will form a committee that would make plans and programs to achieve the two parties common goals.
