Abu-Ghazaleh Granted the Honorary Presidency of Maan Folklore Band

MAAN, Jordan - January 13, 2016 - Maan Folklore Band granted its Honorary Presidency to HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, in recognition of his efforts in supporting development process in Maan.

During a special ceremony held at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh University, Mr. Ahmad Al Khattab, former agriculture minister presented Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh the honorary shield and certificate. 

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh expressed his appreciation to this honor and stressed on his keenness to support all kinds of art including classic and folkloric musical arts.

He said that his interest in the band rises from his passion and appreciation to the significance of original folkloric heritage, indicating Maan Folklore Band which is one of the popular bands in the Kingdom and it presented exceptional performance throughout its march on the local, regional and international levels. 

Mr. Al Khattab noted that the honoring is only simple expression for the continuous support of Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh for Maan and its people and the governorates in the south in general, and for the Band in particular. 

From his side, Mr. Hamed Al Khattab -Maan Folklore Band leader- pointed out that the honorary presidency came as a gratitude and appreciation for Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh’s role in supporting the Band and how it is one of the local bands that is keen to revive and spread the original Maani folkloric heritage in particular, and the Jordanian in general, appreciating Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh’s initiatives and plans for the development process in Maan.
