Abu-Ghazaleh: JOrchestra Delights its Audience at Sharjahs Al Alam Island
SHARJAH – February 10, 2016 - HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, Chairman of the Jordanian National Orchestra Association (JOrchestra) highlighted JOrchestras performance at Al Alam Island in Sharjah in the UAE during the closing night of the third Sharjah World Music Festival. The Festival was held over a six-day period, with 36 concerts attracting wide audience of authentic music lovers.
JOrchestra was conducted by Maestro Mohammed Othman Sidiq and accompanied by the Jordanian star Zain Awad who distinctively sang some of Fairuzs best songs, and the opera singer Dima Bawab who performed Romanza by the Italian singer Bocelly.
During its performance of the "Arabic Opera", JOrchestra took the audience back to the time when operatic art was in its peak, especially with Soprano Dima Bawab performing Tosca and Granada.
The Festival was concluded with a piece of combination of eastern and operatic music, exclusively composed for the Festival by Maestro Mohammed Othman Sidiq. The piece was performed by JOrchestras Bawab, and Awad.
There were 36 concerts performed by 19 artists and bands from 13 Arab and non-Arab countries. They took place in 5 different locations throughout the city of Sharjah; Al Majaz Theatre, Al Qasba, Al Alam Island, the Heart of Sharjah, Al Majaz Waterfront.
Many famous artists participated in the Festival, most notably, Saber Rubai from Tunisia, Joseph Lindfai from Hungary, Stephano de Battista from Italy, Hassan Ali, Arwa Ahmad, and Ali Obeid from the United Arab Emirates, Kalina Yordanova Simio from Bulgaria, Vera Barnett Schuster from Russia, Clara Aswaj from Argentina, and many famous local, Arab, and international bands such as Taksim Trio from Turkey, Le Trio Joubran from Palestine, the Brazilian Tunes Band from Dubai, and Furat Qadouri Music Centres Studio Talent Group.
It is worth mentioning that the Festival was organized by Furat Qadouri Music Center, and sponsored by (Shurooq) Sharjah Investment and Development Authority.
