Ministry of Interior and TAG-KS Sign MoU
AMMAN – Amman Governor HE Mr. Khaled Abu Zeid and HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Foundation, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), in which Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Society (TAG-KS), a member of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Foundation, will provide technical and professional services for the Ministry of Interior.
The MoU comes in the context of establishing a knowledge center in the capital city of Amman and for joint-cooperation to develop the Ministry of Interior’s staff in the fields of Information Technology, Languages, Life Skills, and in capacity building to enhance work activities and to achieve objectives of both parties.
HE Mr. Abu Zeid welcomed Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, conveying the greetings from Minister of Interior HE Mr. Salameh Hammad. He indicated, “This cooperation with TAG-Org is distinguished for the services it provides in training and its professionalism.” He added, “The Ministry of Interior is keen on cooperating with all entities that promote our work to provide the best type of services for Jordanian citizens.
Meanwhile, HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh indicated, “I am pleased with this meeting and all the accomplishments of the Ministry of Interior, as today marks an important day with the establishment of the TAG-Knowledge center within the capital Amman, as we previously began work in other governorates.”
Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh conveyed his greetings to HE the Minister of Interior and the Amman Governor for providing this opportunity for cooperation in training and development that is in line with the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II. He pointed out that this cooperation comes as TAG-Org always strives to provide services in all parts of the Kingdom with the establishment of over 100 knowledge centers throughout the kingdom.
Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh indicated, “The establishment of this Knowledge Center in the Ministry of Interior - Amman Governorate building - will also extend to the establishment of eight other centers in various districts of the kingdom.” He said, “TAG-Org is not only concerned with establishing these centers for teaching computer skills, but also in serving as a complete, comprehensive learning center for capacity building and training, which includes a fast and secure internet line.”
According to the MoU, there will be a team formed from both parties for drafting a training plan that includes training trainers of the Ministry of Interior in order to train other employees and qualify them to acquire the Internationally accredited Cambridge IT Skills certificate.This training will be financially funded by TAG-Org, including its qualified trainers.
Digital programs for training and e-Learningwill also be incorporated among the services offered at the knowledge center, in addition to providing the center TAGITOPS.
There will also be a committee formed from both parties to monitor and follow-up on the implementation of the MoU and its activities, in addition to choosing the target sectors and the implemented programs. The Ministry of Interior will not cover any related expenses.
