Abu-Ghazaleh: Holding the 5th International Platform on Integrating Arab e-Infrastructure in a Global Environment and the Seventh Annual Conference of AROQA

CASABLANCA -  December 6, 2015- Under the Patronage of His Majesty  King Mohammed VI of Morocco and with the attendance of more than 250 participants from 40 countries, the Arab States Research and Education Network (ASREN) holds the 5th International Platform on Integrating Arab e-Infrastructure in a Global Environment in Casablanca-Kingdom of Morocco December 7-8, 2015, in conjunction with the Seventh Annual Conference of AROQA entitled “Impact of Quality and Accreditation in Education”.

The events will witness the participation of a number of ministers of education and communications in the Arab countries, ambassador of the European Union, Assistant Secretary General of the League of Arab States as well as representatives of international organizations and educational institutions.

The Platform and the Conference aim at disseminating awareness on the mechanisms to apply quality and accreditation standards in the educational institutions, and on the latest updates in the new international standards.

HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman of ASREN and AROQA, emphasized the significance of the Platform and the Conference as scientific platforms for researchers, academicians and decision makers to promote cooperation in preparing and implementing national and regional e-infrastructure projects. Such platforms also aim to crystalizing research and education issues that are based on important pillars such as energy, water, environment among other topics in the Arab region, and promoting quality of various patterns of education as well as quality and accreditation standards, including open education and digital education.

Numerous initiatives are to be launched during the gathering, including activation of ASREN exchange point in London and international networking between a number of Arab countries and the European Network for Research and Education, announcing the launch of the Arab-African Networking supported by the European Commission for E-infrastructure, promoting research and educational cooperation in numerous crucial areas as well as launching digital education standards and Arabic educational cyberspace.  

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh indicated that the Forum is based on building cooperation and developing sustainable projects towards technological, research and educational networking. It also represents continuous cooperation between the Arab, European, American, Eastern Asian and African networks to develop sustainable e-infrastructures and mutual communication points, provide support to scholars and researchers around the globe, provide computerized, research and educational services and resources on the Arab network, including unified wireless networking.

The Forum also represents continuous cooperation in promoting collaboration and joint scientific research that are based on using e-infrastructure.
