Abu-Ghazaleh: IASCAs Future Programs Launched

DUBAI – February 1, 2016 - The International Arab Society of Certified Accountants (IASCA) held the annual meetings of the Board of Directors and General Assembly headed by Society Chairman HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh  in the presence of professional leader and experts from various Arab countries.

The meetings discussed a number of decisions that aim at expanding the services provided by the Society, as it is moving toward establishing a regional center to hold training on international accounting standards in the public sector and help implement them. In addition, the Society decided to discuss the issuance of a tax expert qualification.

The Society is planning to hold its next conference in Beirut in October of this year. In addition, the Board of Directors of the Society called on the Society’s management to discuss cooperation with international organizations that applied for this, namely the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan.

It was also decided that the Society joins the membership of the International Valuation Standards Council and discusses the possibility of signing an agreement with it to establish a certified valuation expert certificate in Arabic; in addition to the Board’s decision to participate in the Conference of the Sudanese General Union of Accountants and Auditors to be held in Khartoum this year.

During the meeting, the annual report was discussed highlighting the achievements of the Society. The Board discussed number of administrative and financial topics where it accredited the balance sheet and the estimated budget of the next year.

It has been approved to host the Sudanese Fellowship of Chartered Accountants for the students residing in the UAE to be hosted by TAG-Org offices therein.

In addition, a brochure will be prepared to introduce the Society’s services in the field of adopting and training on the application of the international accountancy standards in the public sector. It will also include the successful experience of the Society in persuading the Jordanian government to adopt the application of the standards as this manual will be sent to the Arab governments.  

A Memorandum of Understanding will be signed with the Sudanese Accounting and Auditing Council to help Sudan join the membership of the International Federation of Accountants.
