ABU DHABI --------February 4, 2015------ Under the patronage of HE Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAEs Minister of Culture, Youth and Social Development, the International Arab Society of Certified Accountants (IASCA) will organize an Arab International Conference entitled “Accountancy as an Economic Decision Making Tool”, in cooperation with the UAE Accountants and Auditors Association, February 10-12 in Abu Dhabi.
HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, IASCA Chairman and Chair of the Conference, stated that this International Arab event gains exceptional significance in these circumstances for several reasons.
" The generous official sponsorship of HE Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the high quality of participants such as the World Bank, International Federation of Accountants, International Accounting Standards Board, Talal Abu Ghazaleh Organization and the representatives of professional associations in the Arab countries, the exceptional number of 300 participants and the nature and importance of topics which will focus on consolidating and developing conditions for auditing license in the Arab world," he said.
- Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh stressed on the various topics including the requirements for professional licensing in the GCC countries and other Arab countries in addition to the IFAC requirements, accounting as a tool for economic decision-making, the impact of the profession on the international economy, making use of financial reports in building the entity’s economic decision and the judicial claims on auditing firms in addition to others.
A session will focus on the continuous education and training and their impact on increasing the efficiency of auditors and international requirements, as well as the experience of the Arab Academy for Training affiliated with the Arab League.
Furthermore, another session will concentrate on the academic qualification, labor market requirements and accounting qualification in the public and private sectors.
According to Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh a workshop will be held by the IFRS Foundation, in concurrence with the Conference, to train trainers on the IFRS for SMEs.
It is worth mentioning that the International Arab Society of Certified Accountants (IASCA) was established on January 12, 1984 as a non-profit professional accounting association in London, UK. It was formally registered in Amman on February 24, 1994. IASCA continuously seeks to develop accounting and management sciences, as well as all related principles applicable to professional services. IASCA also strives to improve competence and practice and strengthen the code of ethics in accordance with the highest professional standards through the issuance of accounting publications and following up on the recent developments in accounting and auditing.
