AKMS launches the first quality-specialized program in the region

AMMAN - On 29 July 2007, the Arab Knowledge and Management Society (AKMS) announced the launching of the "Arab Certified Quality Manager" program (ACQM) in cooperation with Mr. Talal Abu Ghazaleh College of Business (TAGCB)- German Jordanian University.

Under the patronage of the Societys Chairman, Mr. Talal Abu Ghazaleh, and in presence of representatives from the private sector, the public sector and embassies, and representatives from the media, a special ceremony was held for this purpose. Mr. Abu Ghazaleh has inaugurated the program which is considered to be the first of its type in the Arab region and is aiming at offering high quality training and education in order to meet the needs of the Arab labor market. He has also praised the Board of Directors members: Dr. Tala Arabiyyat, Mr, Qais Al-Khalafat, Dr. Al Muiz Lideen Allah Al Hussaini, Dr. Maamon Akroosh, Dr. Fikri Al-Dweiri, Dr. Samer Dhayyat, Eng. Ameen Al-Nasser.         

The Chairman announced in this occasion that every candidate who passes the examination prepared for the ACQM certificate will have the chance to work in the offices of Talal Abu Ghazaleh Group located in 60 different countries.

Mr. Abu Ghazaleh asserted in previous interviews that it is being arranged with the German Jordanian University/ Abu Ghazaleh College of Business and the Ministry of Higher Education to make the ACQM program qualified to exempt from a number of credit hours in the M.A in Quality Management which is one of the Colleges programs.

Furthermore, 15 trainees working as managers and employees in the companies involved in the field of quality in Jordan from both the private and public sectors are participating in the program. The implementation of courses and examinations is supervised by experts holding distinguished scientific and academic qualifications as well as long expertise in the fields of management, most importantly quality management.

The first training course has been held as part of the ACQM program under the title of "Core Concept of Leadership and People Management" consisting of 7 training courses in the program aiming at qualifying the participants in order to sit for the examination to obtain the ACQM certificate.
