Arab Management and Knowledge Society Organizes a Specialized Lecture on ISO 9001 Standards

AMMAN------September 3, 2015-------The Arab Management and Knowledge Society (AKMS) held a specialized lecture on the upcoming ISO 9001 standards for the year 2015 at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh University.

The lecture was held with the participation of representatives from a wide array of sectors and companies that utilize  ISO 9001 including  pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, food companies, real-estate companies, Ministry of Education, private schools  as well as other public and private entities.

The objective of this lecture is to give those interested in   quality systems and ISO standards an opportunity to review and enhance their understanding of essential steps to be followed in preparation for anticipated changes.  Such changes seek to assist organizations and guide them towards a pioneering position in the field of quality management.

Organizing such a lecture materializes the vision of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, AKMS chairman, in enhancing level and performance of professionalism of staff working in the fields of quality, management and Information Technology.

The 2015 ISO 9001 standard is the fifth edition since it has been initiated in 1987.  ISO laws and instructions require the revision of standards every five years to determine if they need amendment, development or withdrawal.

Ms. Majd Farahat, AKMS Executive Director, emphasized that this workshop follows a set of lectures and events held by the Society in the field of ISO in the Middle East stating that more lectures are planned in the pipeline in various Arab countries during the next year.
