Jordan?s ICT Minister Calls for Promoting the Society?s Initiative throughout the Kingdom

AMMAN --- July 26, 2009 --- HE Eng. Basem Rousan, Minister of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), visited on July 22 2009 Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Society (TAG-Knowledge) headquarters.
The Minister emphasized the significance of utlizing ICT tools specially in remote areas due to its direct effect on accelerating social and economic growth and development.
In this regard, Rousan commended TAG-Knowledge?s role in enhancing the university students? skills and experiences through research and studies available on the Internet in addition to stegnthening social responsibility among them calling for exchanging expertise between the exisiting knowledge entities in Jordan and TAG-Knowledge.
Meanwhile, Mr. Tareq Hammad, TAG-Knowledge manager, welcomed the Minister?s visit which represents cooperation between the public and private sectors in serving the higher education sector in Jordan.
Hammad revealed TAG-Knowledge?s tendency to set up other branches for the Society in the Al-Yarmouk and Mu?ta universities.
