"Blanket Become Jackets" Narrates Success Stories of Talal Abu-Ghazalehs Life

AMMAN ---  November 16, 2015 --- "Blankets Become Jackets," a book authored by HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh was released in English narrating selected stories of his life that was blessed by suffering.

Commenting on the release of the book, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh said: "After the book of my bibliography was published in Arabic, many asked me to publish one in English. I decided that it must be different. This book narrates some selected stories of my life where suffering was a blessing for me as I defeated it."

He explained that the stories are diversified. "My aim of publishing this book is to make our children, grandchildren and youth read such stories to dispel any doubt that they are unable to succeed.” He pointed out that there is a potential to achieve success whatever the challenges or living conditions are.

About selecting the title of the 176-page book and his photo, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh stated that it tells one of the suffering stories he experienced during winter time when he was a 10- year- old refugee.

He said: "At that time, it was cold. My parents could not afford to buy me a jacket. So, my mother stitchedme a jacket out of "a blanket" donated to us by the UNRWA. I used to wear it during my school days". "I was proud among my friends as their jackets were bought by their parents but mine was made by my mother and was much warmer than theirs."

Through the book pages and in the story "A Life Blessed by Suffering", Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh narrates his displacement to Lebanon after living the first decade of his life in Palestine. Through that he tells what he learnt from his father – may Allah have mercy on him – of time respect and having things done before the sunrise "With sunrise, you lose your share for someone else". There is a time for everything."

He also narrates his commitment to education in spite of the fact that the nearest school was two hours away. Thus, he walked for four hours every school day back and forth. That also was a felicity for him as it was a chance to study and review lessons, think, dream and wonder about his life and how it must be because his house was inhabited by his father, mother, brothers who were all fifteen members.

Many other stories tell how Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh sought to see suffering from the point of view of others as a blessing for him. Of those stories, he kept his employment letters, discharge, TAG-Org’s launch by its employees, the car trunks that were used as TAG-Org offices at the beginning, enemies blessings and many other stories.

The book pages contain an album of some photos taken during   Abu-Ghazalehs life, a range of certificates and medals that he obtained for his dedication, outstanding successes, and unrivaled services for different categories around the world.
