TAG-Orgs El Nazer Elected Vice Chairman of the Palestinian Association of Certified Public Accountants

GAZA STRIP-March 21, 2010 -Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) Gaza Office Executive Director Mr. Zuhair El Nazer was elected on Wednesday as the vice chairman of the Palestinian Association of Certified Public Accountants (PACPA).

"I am really humbled by this confidence and hopefully I will be able to positively contribute to the work of the Association and the profession," El Nazer, who is also the Arab Society of Certified Accountants (ASCA) representative in Gaza, said.

"We have been working hard according to the directions of Mr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman and CEO of TAG-Org, to take this profession into another level and we hope to be able to do that in many aspects," he added.

Last year, Mr. Abu-Ghazaleh decided to grant students and accountants from the Gaza Strip a full scholarship to enroll in the Arab Certified Public Accountant (ACPA) program and become certified accountants.

The 2009 scholarship was the third to be granted by Mr. Abu-Ghazaleh; the first was in 2001 and it included 1000 Palestinian accountants in Gaza and the West Bank. It was later renewed in 2007.

The Palestinian Association of Certified Public Accountants (PACPA) was established in 1995 to serve the Palestinian community and auditing profession.
