AMMAN --- April 21, 2010 ---The Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Computer Refurbishment (TAG-CR) unveiled its www.tagcompufurbish.com, an innovative website that provides a comprehensive look on the project created to build knowledge communities by increasing the adoption of technology and enhancing computer literacy in the Arab region.
TAG-CR Director Mr. Ala Zarour said:" Our goal is to present our newest project which consists of establishing a network of refurbishing centers, and building refurbishment capacity in the Arab region."
TAG-CR is the brainchild of Mr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman and CEO of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) and chair of the Global Alliance for ICT and Development (GAID). It was established as part of TAG-Orgs corporate social responsibility towards the Arab communities.
The first fully functional center part of the ?Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Center for Refurbished Computers? project was established in Jordan, and there are plans to open more centers in Lebanon, Syria, Bahrain and Pakistan.
"The Center was established through the United Nations ?UN 500/12? initiative, which was launched in 2008 in order to supply 10,000 schools with 50.000 computers that will benefit 33 million students by 2012," Zarour added.
