Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Hall for Business News Inaugurated

AMMAN -  February 18, 2013 - Jordan National News Agency "Petra" celebrated the opening of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Hall for Business News, under the patronage of the Minister of State for Media Affairs HE Dr. Mohammed Al-Momani, and with the attendance of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh and Petras Director General, HE Mr. Faisal Al-Shboul.

The Economy Department (Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Hall for Business News) has been refurbished and equipped with office furniture and necessary equipment by Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org).

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh expressed pleasure to cooperate with such a prestigious national institution like Jordan News Agency, praising its role in covering news, transmitting Jordans bright image, and raising and addressing issues related to the Jordanian society with transparency, credibility and neutrality.

He noted that the cooperation with Petra is a duty towards the society and the country, and that it comes out of social responsibility and in response to His Majesty King Abdullah IIs call for partnership between private and public sectors.

He added that the support provided by TAG-Org to this national institution is to keep up with the rapid developments media is witnessing, noting that TAG-Org is always committed to actively contribute to the development of the Jordanian society through implementing many initiatives in various sectors throughout the Kingdom.

He also expressed pleasure that TAG-Org has refurbished the Economy Department at Petra and provided the journalists with 40 laptops to help them in their work, noting that in this technology era, using the Internet becomes essential for journalists since Internet is a fast way to transfer news and circulate articles.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh valued the continuous and distinguished cooperation between TAG-Org and Petra, commending the role of this national agency in developing the media sector and transferring the Jordanian media message to the world.

For his part, Dr. Al-Momani expressed gratitude to Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh for the support and equipment he has provided to Petra.

He stated that todays ceremony reflects the real integration and partnership between public and private sectors, adding that such partnerships would serve the country in all fields. He also praised TAG-Orgs efforts in contributing to the social and economic development by launching many initiatives, projects, and programs in many parts of the Kingdom.

Petras Director General Mr. Faisal Al-Shboul valued the distinguished cooperation and partnership between Petra and TAG-Org, and said that such partnerships would enhance the development of the national economy. 

He stated that Petras mission is to broadcast news and reports that highlight Jordans achievements, and shows Arab perspective towards different issues.

It is worth mentioning that Petra and TAG-Org had earlier signed a MoU that involves the exchange of services between the two parties.
