The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aims at providing sustainable sources of education and knowledge to support the development of Palestinian communities.
Ramallah, Palestine - November 16, 2009 - Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Society has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Local Government in the Palestinian National Authority on the funding and establishment of knowledge society centers in different territories of the Palestinian National Authority.
The MOU provides for the signing of a subsequent implementation agreement on the financing of a project to establish as many as 35 knowledge centers in the Palestinian territories. The centers will be named "Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Windows in Palestine", and will be designed following the model of the pioneering example of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Society in Amman, Jordan.
The MOU was signed by H.E. Khaled Al-Qawasmi, Minister of Local Government in the Palestinian National Authority representing the Ministry of Local Government and Mr. Mustafa Nasereddin, Executive Director of International Affairs in Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization, representing Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Society. Dr. Sabry Saidam, the Advisor of the Palestinian President for ICT Affairs, attended the signing ceremony.
The terms of agreement according to the MOU indicated that other parties will join the Memorandum of Understanding as partners in this knowledge and development project, and that the Ministry of Local Government in the Palestinian National Authority will work with these partners to provide the necessary funds and all the requirements for the establishment of the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh knowledge Windows? centers in Palestine up to the best standards. It is noteworthy that the Palestinian Presidents Office had expressed a keen interest in this project and is supporting it at all levels.
