Beirut - December 30, 2009 - The delegation of the Palestinian Auditors Association met with Mr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, Chairman of Arab Society of Certified Accountants (ASCA), in Beirut on the sidelines of the Arab Financial and Accounting Forum.
During the meeting, Mr. Abu-Ghazaleh was updated on the conditions of the auditing profession in Palestine; and it was agreed that Mr. Abu-Ghazaleh would continue his support for the profession in Palestine through providing the Association with all the professional publications issued by ASCA and by conducting training courses for members of the Palestinian Auditors Association.
The Delegation was led by the Association?s Chairman, Mr. Mohammad Akram Hassouna, and included members of the board of directors Mr. Sami Dahbour, Mr. Shafiq Awashreh, and the participation of Mr. Mohammed Salman, as well as Mr. Jamal Milhem, board member and Executive Director of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization - Ramallah Office.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Delegation presented the Association?s shield to Mr. Abu-Ghazaleh in recognition of his continued efforts in support of the auditing profession, especially in Palestine and as a member emeritus of the Association.
The Delegation had participated in the activities of the Arab Financial and Accounting Forum, held in Beirut on 22 and 23 December. The Forum was held at the initiative of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization and the Arab Society of Certified Accountants under the auspices of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Lebanon, General Michael Sleiman, and the participation of ministers, ambassadors, many representatives of official bodies, regulators, professional bodies, public and private sectors, auditors and academics.
