AMMAN ----October 19, 2010-------- The Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Society (TAG-Knowledge) and Akhtaboot job fair held under the Patronage of H.E. Mr. Samir Al Rifai, Prime Minister of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan with the presence of Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman and CEO of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) was inaugurated today at TAG-Knowledge headquarters opposite the University of Jordan.
Deputizing for the Prime Minister, HE Mr. Samir Murad Minister of Labor said at the opening: ?The Ministry always supports the various initiatives aimed at providing job opportunities for job seekers in accordance with the royal directives in granting a decent life and appropriate work environment for the Jordanians.?
The Minister stressed that the government believes that finding job opportunities for the unemployed, empowering the youth and the development of human resources are top priorities.
Murad believes that around 5000-6000 job seekers will frequent the TAG-Knowledge/Akhtaboot Job Fair expressing hopes that the percentage of employment will reach the required level by the Fair organizers.
?Such job fairs are considered a good chance for job seekers and employers to communicate. Not to forget that the effort to decrease unemployment percentage can?t be achieved but with the cooperation of the various parties and the private sector,? Murad concluded.
From his part, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh expressed his satisfaction with the joint efforts exerted by TAG-Knowledge and Akhtaboot that led to the success of the job fair.
?I believe that this venue is a real chance for all those who look for work opportunities to communicate with the pioneering companies that are participating in the Fair,? he said.
?The Fair also creates and enhances students network that facilitates the circulation of information between those who attended the Fair and others who couldn?t,? he added.
Abu-Ghazaleh revealed that all Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Graduate School of Business Administration/ The German Jordanian University graduates are secured with the appropriate job opportunities in their specialties.
Meanwhile, Akhtaboot Co-founder Yousef Shamoun commended the active participation by all parties saying: ?We are really pleased with the participation of the giant companies in this Fair which reached up to 35 corporations.?
He added: ?our mission through this fair is to provide an appropriate platform that connects the right candidate with the right job opportunity, which will ultimately lead to the success of future job fairs from one side and enable the Jordanian youth start the required career path from the other.?
The two-day event organized by TAG-Knowledge and Akhtaboot for the first time witnessed a huge crowd of job seekers clutching to their resumes seeking a real opportunity to connect with various top notch companies and institutions searching for the right talent.
The event will also provide career related workshops, training on how to write CVs and interview skills in addition to others.
The job fair sponsored by LG, Umniah, AlGhad newspaper and Online Projects runs October 19th and 20th from 10 am till 7 pm at TAG-Knowledge Headquarters.
