UNESCO Amman Office, TAG-Org and Petra Authority announces the PETRA album concert by Luca Aquino and the Jordanian National Orchestra.

Amman - Under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Dana Firas, the special concert for the launch of the new album “PETRA” by Luca Aquino and the Jordanian National Orchestra will be held on July 23, 2016 near Little Petra. The event is organized within the framework of the UNESCO global campaign #Unite4Heritage under the leadership of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh and in partnership with the UNESCO Office in Amman and the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA).

This unmissable concert for all the jazz and world-music lovers will start at 6.30 pm under the shadows of Little Petra rocks. The event will be held close to the same venue where the album was recorded in December 2015, and will see Luca Aquino (trumpet), Natalino Marchetti (accordion), Sergio Casale (flute) and Jordanian National Orchestra ensemble with Anna Maria Matuszczak (violinist), Bassem al Jaber (contrabassist), Brad Broomfield (percussionist), Vardan Petrosyan (violists) and Laurentiu Baciu (oboist), performing together with the violist Christopher Jenkins the vibrant music of PETRA. Interested participants also have the possibility to visit at the Petra Visitor Centre the photo exhibition “The Net of the Siq” showcasing photos taken as part of the Italian-funded UNESCO “Siq Stability” project.

The audience will experience the pleasure of listening the original music composed by the renowned Italian trumpeter Luca Aquino for this special project, where the natural acoustic reverbs are the core center of the music composition. It is a unique event, which combines fascinating music with the reverbs of this unparalleled UNESCO World Heritage site.

Buses will be available to facilitate the transportation to the site and special rates for the hotels are offered to those who wish to stay for the night. Tickets for the event are available on www.sajilni.com and at Jordanian National Orchestra Association premises in Shmeisani (Abdel Raheem Al Waked Street, building n. 45).
