“Orange Jordan” sings partnership agreement with “TAG” to introduce new tax-free shopping services in its showrooms

AMMAN - Orange Jordan recently signed a partnership agreement with Talal Abu-Ghazaleh & Co. International (TAGI) to provide an exclusive sales tax refund for customers who have residency outside of Jordan or holders of non-Jordanian passport in all its showrooms.

The agreement came during a signing ceremony held at the TAG University and attended by  Mr Chairman of TAG,  Dr. Talal Abu Ghazaleh and from Orange Jordan side, Jerome Henique, Orange Jordan CEO and Patrice Loze, Orange Jordan Deputy CEO/Chief Consumer Officer along with top officials from both sides. The partnership came following an agreement between Talal Abu-Ghazaleh & Co. International (TAGI) and the Ministry of Finance/ the Income and Sales Tax Department.

Customers wishing to benefit from this exclusive refund are requested to fill out the designated tax-free form upon making a purchase in any of Orange Jordan’s showrooms displaying the tax-free sign. Before leaving the country, customers then present their passport at the customs desk , proof of purchase (receipt), and actual item bought from Orange in order to receive their refund.

Commenting on the event, Mr. Chairman of TAG Dr. Talal Abu Ghazaleh pointed out to the importance of the business activity and its direct link to tourism, affirming that the tourism is internationally recognized as an integral part of the business activity. He stressed that: “tax refund for tourists and non-residents on their purchases that they take abroad when they leave the Kingdom will effectively impact the promotion of tourism and the commercial activity, which ultimately serves the national economy.”
