World Islamic Sciences and Education University Presents A Special Painting to Abu-Ghazaleh

AMMAN – The World Islamic Sciences and Education University presented a paining made by the Faculty of Traditional Islamic Art and Architecture as a gift to HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh.

The painting, consisting of Arabic calligraphy "Thuluth Al-jali” and incorporating the “Talal Abu-Ghazaleh” name is embellished with a 21 carat gold gilded floral decoration and natural colors.

The gift was presented by the University Vice President Dr. Salman Fadil Al-Badour as a representative of the University and President and Professor Yassin Al Zoghbi accompanied by a delegation representing the Faculty.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh expressed his deep gratitude to the University, its president, staff and students, voicing his pride at the creation of the painting by students.

He highlighted the influence Islamic Art has had on Western arts and its adoption in many countries throughout the world. He stressed its importance and called for more exposure of this type of art through the  organization of joint events and exhibitions which could be hosted by Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Forum (TAGKF).

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh highlighted the necessity for establishing special standards for this art, suggesting composition of a committee at the TAGKF that would include representatives from  the Islamic Art and Architecture sector, particularly from the Faculty of Traditional Islamic Art and Architecture to discuss means of creating educational standards and policies for this art.
