‘Abu-Ghazaleh’ and Code Circle Launch ‘Programing for Girls’ Initiative

AMMAN - Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Society (TAG-KS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Code Circle, an educational company that empowers a new generation through programs that strengthen coding, entrepreneurship, and creative skills in children, in order to cooperate in launching ‘Teaching Programing for Girls’ initiative. 

According to the agreement, signed by Mr. Loay Abu-Osbeh, executive director of TAG-KS, and Ms. Ruba Asfour, executive director of Code Circle, the two parties will offer specialized programing in developing Android applications using (MIT App Inventor) for girls aged between 14-16 years at public schools and local community.  

The initiative will be implemented in all governorates throughout the Kingdom, wherever TAG-Knowledge Stations are located .Jerash governorate (Gaza Camp) was chosen as a launching point for this initiative that will start next month. 

Abu Osbeh underlined the importance of the signed agreement that would improve professional and educational capabilities of girl students and community members. 

Abu Osbeh added that based on the agreement, TAG-Knowledge Stations will be fully equipped with the necessary tools to implement the initiative including TAGITOP devices and a free high-speed Internet connection provided by TAG.Global’s own Internet line in addition to assisting in marketing the program, that also includes free courses in CV Writing and Job Interview Skills. 

For her part, Ms. Asfour expressed her pride in collaborating with TAG-KS, and gratitude for the support to be offered to make the training program a success, in addition to potential jobs for the participating girls which will positively reflect on entrepreneurship and creative skills among children and youth.
