Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Participates in a Digital Panel Session of Umniah’s Business Incubator

AMMAN – The Executive Director of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Forum (TAG-KF), Mr. Fadi Daoud, participated as a keynote speaker in a digital discussion session entitled ‘Corona’s Role in Promoting Remote Learning & Creating Opportunities for Future Projects’ organized by Umniah’s business incubator ‘The Tank’.

This session is part of a series of dialogue sessions organized by The Tank to help entrepreneurs, at this stage in particular, understand market trends and the local economy as well as to exploit new opportunities that might arise during the Coronavirus crisis.

During the session, Daoud referred to the recent international reports issued by UNESCO and the World Bank, which confirmed that since Coronavirus pandemic started approximately 6.1 billion children have been affected by closing schools, institutes and universities. That is in addition to the suspension of education classes in most which affected more than 80% of learners around the world. Thus he affirmed the need for transforming to ‘Digital Learning in Education’ to assist students everywhere to continue their education remotely from home.

Furthermore, Daoud pointed out that the Coronavirus crisis and the major changes it caused, particularly its effects on the education system, made e-learning and remote education a necessity not a luxury which urges all the educational systems in schools and universities as well as the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship to institutionalize e-learning within laws and procedures to ensure the continuity of the education process even beyond the Coronavirus pandemic.

The session moderated by Ms. Noor Abu-Jbara, who is in charge of entrepreneurship and innovation at Umniah’s “The Tank” business incubator, was attended by Dr. Anas Abu-Al-Saud, assistant to the President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University and Ms. Samar Obeidat, Founder and CEO of Entro Gate.

The participants stressed the need for exploiting new investment opportunities in the education sector as well as exploiting communication and information technologies to turn all the corona crisis challenges into ‘Entrepreneurial Projects’ in education and health sectors; as a way to meet the needs of society and to find solutions to the problems it faces.
