Oman’s ‘Suwaiq Charitable Volunteer Team’ Purchases Abu-Ghazaleh for Technology’s Electronic Devices
MUSCAT – In a virtual meeting held under the patronage of HE Sheikh Rashid bin Ahmed Al Shamsi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development (MOSD) in the Sultanate of Oman, with the participation of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global), ‘Suwaiq Charitable Volunteer Team’, (affiliated with the Social Development Committee in Al-Suwaiq Wilayat (region) in the Sultanate), and Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Information Technology International (TAG-ITI) – Muscat Office, signed a laptop sale agreement.
According to the agreement, TAG-ITI will provide 370 laptops (TAGITOP UNI C) designed, produced and manufactured by Talal Abu-Ghazaleh for Technology (TAGTech), for distribution to the underprivileged families in Al-Suwaiq Wilayat.
HE Sheikh Al Shamsi extended his gratitude to all those involved in such humanitarian and voluntary work, pointing out the importance of solidarity in mitigating the challenges posed by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic that the whole world has been experiencing for more than eight months.
Al Shamsi also pointed out that the social solidarity actions carried out by the generous and sympathetic Omani people will constitute an important factor in helping the poor and underprivileged families.
For his part, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh expressed his deep gratitude to HE Sheikh Al Shamsi for giving TAG-Tech the opportunity to participate in such a significant project that aims at helping an important segment in the local community.
Additionally, he expressed his thanks to the Sultanate of Oman for hosting TAG.Global’s offices since its establishment in the Sultanate in 1973, affirming that what TAG.Global offers in Oman is a small fraction of the Sultanate’s great favor that overwhelmed TAG.Global over the years.
During the meeting, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh referred to the establishment of the forthcoming TAGTech factory in Oman’s Duqm Special Economic Zone (SEZ) which aims to serve the Gulf region and Africa, noting that the selection of the Duqm Special Economic Zone is due to its strategic location on the Arab and international trade routes, in addition to the elaborate infrastructure that may make the Zone’s contribution to the Omani economy equal to the contribution of oil to the national economy in the future.
Talal Abu-Ghazaleh for Technology (TAGTech) has started manufacturing electronic devices in China, which reached to 15 series of TAGTech devices including laptops, tablets and smartphone (TAG-Phone), offered in more than 50-locations worldwide.
