During his participation in ‘Tajseer’ Forum Abu-Ghazaleh Underscores the Importance of Digital Transformation in Economic Recovery from Coronavirus Pandemic

AMMAN – HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global), was the guest of honor in the International Forum for Community Entrepreneurship ‘Tajseer’,  held virtually to discuss digitalization requirements for transforming leading community projects into successful opportunities. 

The Forum was organized by the Regional Network for Social Responsibility (CSR) in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in partnership with the Investment and Technology Promotion Office affiliated with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Arab International Center for Entrepreneurship & Investment. It was held with wide participation of experts and stakeholders from the Arab region and beyond.

In his inaugural speech, entitled the ‘Significance of Corporate Community Entrepreneurship in the Digital Era and its Role in Responding to Challenges of Economic Recovery from Coronavirus Pandemic’, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh stressed the importance of digital transformation, that he had been calling for more than a decade. He pointed out that TAG.Global has completed its digital transformation years ago, and that’s why TAG.Global’s work and activities have not been affected during Coronavirus pandemic and the closures it caused  worldwide.

Furthermore, He underlined that TAG.Global has a significant role in digital revolution or knowledge revolution. the so-called ‘Fourth Industrial Revolution’, He further explained that TAG.Global has played its leading role in the digital transformation process through the establishment of a management consulting department for corporate digital transformation services.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh added that TAG.Global also established the first university of its kind in the world that offers digital academic degrees based on graduates' digital inventions. He also affirmed that wealth nowadays is mainly created  by digital corporations. The fact that the world’s top 5-companies are digital tech businesses attests to this reality, he added.

“Today, we are facing a historical shift in the sources of wealth-creation. Rather than conventional industries or trade, knowledge-based creation would become the main source of wealth; a reason that led us at TAG.Global, to establish a digital academy that offers over 700 training programs for digital capacity building in different professions,” Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh said. 

For the importance of digital transformation for the Arab countries, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh stressed that TAG.Global strives to cooperate with the League of the Arab States to implement a digital transformation project at Arab-regional level to disseminate digital learning culture.

During the Forum, participants discussed Ecosystem that is appropriate for community entrepreneurship, access mechanisms for financing and technology connectivity, digital environment for community entrepreneurship development, the importance of corporate social entrepreneurship in the digitization era and its role in responding to challenges of economic recovery from Coronavirus pandemic.

At the end of the Forum, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh was presented with the Honorary Membership of the International Program for Community Entrepreneurship ‘Tajseer’, as a member of the Regional Network for Social Responsibility.
