Canisius College Presents ‘Talal Abu-Ghazaleh International Award for Excellence in Accounting’ to Graduate Balcerzak

BUFFALO; New York - After 2 years of  Coronavirus  restrictions  Canisius College Accounting Department has resumed the holding of its annual banquet. The latest has been held on April 20.

This event is held annually to recognize the achievements of accounting students and to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of the program graduates. At the banquet, the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh International Award for Excellence in the Accounting Programs was granted to Mr. Sean Balcerzak who will graduate in May with a Master’s degree in accounting.

The Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Award was established in 1988 following the visit of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global), to Canisius College, during which he was highly impressed by the quality of the accounting program at the college  and decided as a result to support it by providing an annual award to one of its graduates.

This year’s award was presented on behalf of Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh by Dr. Edward Gress, professor emeritus of accounting and a consultant to TAG.Global, who expressed his gratitude to Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh for his continuous support to the accounting programs at the College.
