Abu-Ghazaleh and Lebanon's Armed Forces Commander Discuss Cooperation

BEIRUT - Lebanon's Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun received HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global  and the accompanying delegation in his office, where the two sides discussed cooperation in the fields of digital transformation, training and capacity building of military personnel in active duty and military retirees. 

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh expressed his great appreciation and recognition of the role of the Armed Forces, and highly praised its efforts in safeguarding security in the country in light of the worst crisis Lebanon has ever experienced. 

He spoke about TAG.Global’s efforts towards intensifying cooperation with the Lebanese government through the recently inaugurated knowledge stations, highlighting the importance of these stations in raising community members’ awareness in the need for embracing technology, capacity building, and fighting digital illiteracy through specialized training courses.

Additionally, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh referred to the knowledge stations that will be soon inaugurated for the service of the Armed Forces personnel, saying “This is not a gift or donation, but a duty that we carry out toward the Armed Forces institution with all our respect for its noble role in protecting the country.”

For his part, General Aoun expressed appreciation for Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh’s efforts  serving the Lebanese communities, reaffirming the importance of the knowledge stations in bridging the technological gap by building the capacities of the Armed Forces personnel and sharpening their skills in all digital service fields.  

Accordingly, the two parties agreed on inaugurating a number of specialized knowledge stations for Armed Forces officers, retired military of the Non-commissioned Officers Institute, Military Academy, and the Command and Staff College, and furnishing these knowledge stations with the required equipment as well as training courses in coordination with the Armed Forces Command. 

It is worth mentioning that the meeting was attended by TAG.Global Chair of Group Management Board at TAG.Global, Mr. Salah Abu Osbeh, Executive Director of Lebanon Office, Mr. Marwan Abu-Sahyoun, and Representative of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh for Culture and Media in Lebanon, Mr. Burhan Al Ashkar, Director of the Army Commander’s Office Colonel Ali Shmeisani, the MENA EdTech Alliance President, Dr. Rabie Baalbaki, and Vice-President of the Alliance for International Partnerships and Relations Coordinator, Nora Al-Murabi.
