Abu-Ghazaleh and Lebanon’s Translators Union Discuss Cooperation

AMMAN – HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global), received in his office Dr. Mohammad Qasem Al-Hamad, a member of the Board of Trustees of Lebanon-based Translators Union, to discuss means of cooperation between the two sides.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh praised the important role the Union plays in supporting translators, enriching the translation profession as well as facilitating communication between the Arab translators and interpreters. He affirmed TAG.Global’s readiness to support the Union through any of the services provided by TAG.Global’s firms, especially TAG-Translation.

Moreover, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh welcomed cooperation with the Union to serve the translation profession, calling on all TAG.Global’s translators to join the Union and take advantage of its services which serve the interests of the profession, particularly in the fields of digital transformation.

For his part, Dr. Al-Hamad conveyed the appreciation of the Union’s President, Ms. Wedyan Mortada, for the leading role Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh plays in supporting the translation movement in the Arab region. She pointed out that the translation profession; like other professions and fields, is experiencing technological developments in terms of methods, techniques, and tools. The Union continually keeps an avid eye on such developments and organizes specialized training courses, workshops, and cultural seminars to keep members up to date.

It is worth mentioning that the Translators Union is an independent, non-profit association, established in 2021 in Lebanon. The Union facilitates communication among Arab translators and university students in any field related to languages and translation, and between translation agencies and their clients (whether in Lebanon or other Arab countries). The Union opens its doors and welcomes all members and translators to discuss and follow up on all matters related to translation and its future.
