Abu-Ghazaleh and Minister Sharafeddine Launch a Global Appeal for Recovery of Deposits

AMMAN - HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global), has received in his office the Lebanese Minister of the Displaced, Dr. Issam Sharafeddine along with Mr. Samer Boustani, an international expert in combating corruption and financial crimes.

During the meeting, the two sides agreed on forming a council of volunteers to help the depositors to secure recovery of their savings in the Lebanese banks. They also agreed to launch a digital campaign, regardless of the value of their deposits, so that the Council can take the case to all relevant international authorities, considering that such act of seizure the deposits in question is considered a crime against humanity.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh stressed that the Banking Secrecy Law in Lebanon must be completely repealed as a first step, as it is impossible to recover funds, while this law remains in force because it stands as a stumbling block in the face of the depositors' recovery rights.

For his part, Minister Sharafeddine expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh for his ongoing support and professional services, as well as his support of the depositors’ rights and their pursuit of their just cause.

During the meeting, Mr. Boustani briefed the meeting on all international agreements, covenants, and treaties that safeguard and protect human rights in general and their application to the depositors' legal claim in particular. All such measures and principles shall be taken into account while taking the case to all relevant international organizations towards a just solution for the depositors’ legitimate claim to recover their money in full.
