Nelson Mandela’s Grandson to Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh: I look forward to cooperating with you in serving the Palestinian Cause
JOHANNESBURG - Mr. Mandla Mandela, the grandson of the icon for the struggle against apartheid and oppression in the world Mr. Nelson Mandela, has sent a thank you letter from Johannesburg, South Africa, to HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh in acknowledgment of his support for the Palestinian cause, affirming South Africa’s support to the Palestinian struggle as well.
In his recorded letter, Mr. Mandla stated: “Allow me on this occasion to take the opportunity to extend my gratitude on behalf of the family of President Mandela to Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh as ‘a Palestinian hero’ for his support to the Palestinian struggle, and the Palestinian cause that the late President Nelson Mandela was keen to support, and continuously urged us, as individuals in the international community, to continue supporting. I admire your efforts, and I am honored to accept your invitation to visit Jordan. I look forward to working with you and discussing means for mutual cooperation in the service of the Palestinian cause”.
It is worth mentioning that the Global Campaign to Return to Palestine has organized the 5th Global Convention of Solidarity with Palestine in cooperation with the Royal House of Mandela in Johannesburg, South Africa, entitled ‘Nelson Mandela, and Palestine … Resisting Racism toward Liberation’. The Campaign organizers hosted HE Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh as a guest of honor in recognition of his supporting efforts and advocacy for the Palestinian cause.
The Convention was organized in conjunction with the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, observed on November 29, 2023, and in concurrence with the 10th Anniversary of the passing of President Nelson Mandela on December 5, 2013.
