Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Announces the Establishment of TAGTech Factory in Lebanon

BEIRUT – HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global), has expressed his pride in the opening of the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh for Technology (TAGTech) factory at the Lebanese University premises, asserting his thanks and appreciation to the Republic of Lebanon; the country that embraced him as a refugee in 1948 at the age of ten after he was displaced from Palestine to the town of Al Ghaziyeh in southern Lebanon.

This statement was delivered by Representative of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh in Lebanon for Culture and Media, Mr. Burhan Al Ashkar, during the opening ceremony of  TAGTech factory at the University, which was held under the patronage of Lebanon’s Prime Minister, HE Mr. Najib Mikati, in the presence of Minister of Industry, Mr. George Bouchikian, Lebanon’s Minister of Education and Higher Education, HE Dr. Abbas Halabi, and Lebanese University President, Prof. Bassam Badran.

In the speech, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh introduced himself to the attendees who included VIPs, academics, administrators and students at the Lebanese University as "An Arab citizen who was made in Lebanon". He expressed his profound appreciation for Lebanon’s role in his career journey and his commitment to returning the favor to Lebanon, which provided him a home, education and qualified him to kick off toward globalism.

In the same speech Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh said: “Today, and over half a century of continuous presence in this country, I proudly announce the opening of TAGTech factory that manufactures and produces laptops, tablets, smartphones, which I consider a partnership with Lebanon represented by the Lebanese University. I present this factory as a gift to Lebanon to show my gratitude towards the country that played a pivotal role in my life journey”.

Mr. Al Ashkar pointed out  Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh’s keenness to personally attend this important event which made him travel to Lebanon in a private plane, despite an important family commitment :the wedding of his eldest grandson which was held without any celebrations due to the Zionist aggression on Gaza Strip and southern Lebanon.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh further concluded by congratulating the attendees and all Arabs on the victory of the Palestinian resistance against the Zionist enemy.
