The President of the Lebanese University Announces its Transformation into a Productive and Research University

BEIRUT - The Lebanese University President, Prof. Bassam Badran has announced that the University is entering a new era with the inauguration of the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh for Technology (TAGTech) factory on its campus, stressing that this exceptional and historic event will not only mark the launch of a successful and fruitful collaboration with a well-known institution; rather it will also usher the beginning of a new era in which the Lebanese University would effectively transform into a proactive hub for education and research by entering the field of manufacturing with firm determination.
This was part of his speech during the opening ceremony patronized by the Prime Minister of Lebanon, HE Mr. Najib Mikati, in the presence of Minister of Industry, HE Mr. George Bouchikian, Minister of Education and Higher Education, HE Dr. Abbas Halabi, and representative of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global), in Lebanon for Culture and Media, Mr. Burhan Al Ashkar.
Prof. Badran also affirmed that the University became the first in the region to enter the technological industry sector, indicating that its cooperation with HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, is launching its joint project entitled “Made in the Lebanese University”.
He attributed the success of this project o to Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh, the Palestinian-Arab-Lebanese and the most prominent figure in economic development domains.
At the end of the ceremony, Prof. Badran expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister Mikati, for his ongoing support to the University since 2011. He also acknowledged the support of the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, HE Mr. Nabih Berri, Lebanon’s Minister of Education and Higher Education, HE Dr. Abbas Halabi, considering him the partner in the University's achievements and the facilitator of all its needs and demands.
Additionally, he thanked Minister of Industry, Mr. George Bouchikian for providing all necessary facilities, and the judicial bodies whose support made this partnership legally possible.
