Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh Receives Delegation from the Palestinian National Council


AMMAN – HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global Digital (TAG.GD), has received in his office a delegation from the Palestinian National Council (PNC). 
During the meeting, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh gave an overview of the “One Million Scholarship Initiative”, launched by TAG.GD, which enables students to pursue a fully-funded digital Master’s degree.  He elaborated that the scholarship initially targeted people in the Gaza Strip, and it was later expanded to include all Palestinian refugees, as well as Lebanese and Syrian students.
Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh added that over 7,000 students had registered to benefit from the scholarship in its first year, noting that initially the  Gaza students had faced challenges in accessing the internet during the Zionist genocidal war on the Strip.
Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh further stated that TAG.GD has decided to expand the scope of the scholarship to include cadres working in various Jordanian national institutions, pointing out that discussions are underway regarding the inclusion of their children as well in the initiative.
He also emphasized that the scholarship has been restricted to the most in-demand jobs in the market, mainly in digital and technological fields. 
In addition, he shared details about a specialized program developed by TAG.GD to prepare and qualify experts and technicians in the reconstruction and rebuilding areas, with a primary focus on Gaza.
On the other hand, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh announced plans to launch the TAGEPEDIA Knowledge Platform, designed basically to provide knowledge seekers with an access to digital educational programs all over the world, stressing the importance of improving education in the Arab region, quoting reports that describe current education system in the region as "harmful."
At the end of the meeting, the delegation presented to Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh a shield of appreciation on behalf of the Speaker of the Palestinian National Council, Mr. Rawhi Fattouh, in recognition of his continued support for the Palestinian people.
