AMMAN - On the occasion of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan’s celebrations marking the 63rd anniversary of the birth of His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, and under the patronage of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, the Abu Nseir Cultural Forum, in cooperation with the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Forum (TAG-KF), a member of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global Digital (TAG.GD), has organized a ceremony to honor a host of distinguished Jordanian figures for their philanthropic and humanitarian efforts in 2024.
In his address, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh emphasized the importance of honoring prominent individuals who effectively contribute to humanitarian services, acknowledging the profound impact of their efforts on peoples’ lives, calling for enhancing a culture of giving. He stressed that Jordan is currently going through a challenging economic phase that cannot be overcome by the government alone, urging every individual to shoulder his responsibility and contribute to support the country's advancement and economic growth.
For his part, Dr. Abdulhalim Al-Awamleh, the Forum chairman, has stated that honoring such figures encourages individuals to strive for excellence and continue their journey in their service-oriented efforts. He added that the volunteering work and honorable positions made by these individuals across various fields are greatly valued and respected.
The Forum honored Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh as the "Best International Personality of the Year 2024" in recognition of his unwavering dedication to humanitarian, cultural, and social initiatives, as well as his efforts in disseminating values of tolerance and justice.
A total of 40 Jordanian figures from different sectors were honored for their personal humanitarian contributions. Among the honorees were Mr. Ibrahim Al-Awamleh, chairman of the Decentralized Balqa Governorate Council, Dr. Ahmad Al-Kasasbeh, Sheikh Osama Zaid Al-Wreikat; Mr. Taysir Abu Arabi, Dr. Jamal Jubran, director of the Social Security Corporation Branch in East Amman, Dr. Jamal Almasad Melhem, former Director of the Jordan University Hospital, Mr. Jihad Qteishat, director of the Jordanian Military Sports Federation – Armed Forces; Dr. Hassan Jihad Al-Zubaidi, general manager of Al-Sabilah Schools, Mr. Hussein Al-Faouri; Journalist Ms. Rabea Al-Awamleh, and Mr. Ra'ed Arabiyat, director of Jordan Radio and Television Corporation (JRTV).
The honorees also included Mr. Ziad Hamdan Al-Baik, director of the Office of the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Mr. Sultan Al-Kayed Al-Awamleh, Mr. Samir Al-Hyari, founder and editor-in-chief of Ammon News Agency, the young inventor Shoja’a Ahmad Damra, winner of first place in a contest that gathered participants from 35 countries for inventing a multilingual robot for tourists, Ms. Shatha Al-Faouri, executive secretary of the Director General of Jordan University Hospital, Tribal Judge Sheikh Trad Al-Fayez, Dr. Azem Qaddomi, president of Jordan Dental Association, Journalist Mr. Amer Al-Rajoub, Dr. Abduljalil Abdul-Rauf Shehab; Dr. Ali Al-Abdallat, director of Al-Bashir Hospital, and Philanthropist Mr. Ghazi Jarwan.
Moreover, Retired Major General of the Jordanian Armed Forces and Military Expert Mr. Fayez Al-Dwairi, Journalist Mr. Mohammad Al-Khaldi, Public Security Directorate Spokesperson, Mr. Mohammad Al-Khatib, Mr. Mohammad Jaafar Abu Hammour, in addition to Greater Amman Municipality Deputy Mayor, Mr. Mohammad Rasmi Al Qaisi, Prof. Nader Al-Bsoul, General Director of Jordan University Hospital, Father Nabil Haddad, founder of Interfaith Coexistence Research Center (JICRC), Dr. Nakhleh Elias Abu-Yaghi, a physician, Artist Nadhir Al-Alaqan, president Baqa' for Culture and Arts Association, were all honored.
The list of honorees also included: Dr. Noor Ahmed Ibrahim, known as the "doctor of the poor", Journalist Dr. Hani Al-Badri; Ms. Hadeel Abdel Aziz, founder of the Justice Center for Legal Aid (JCLA), Ms. Wedad Al-Majali, Journalist Dr. Khaled Al-Diri, Dr. Inas Al-Sahili, Egyptian Eng. Alaa Al-Maghrebi, Business Development Consultant contributing to the green energy sector in Jordan; and Journalist Hala Al-Majali.
